vote! VOTE!…
Vote! VOTE!
And remember two facts:
It’s a right and responsibility
For us to enact.
Part of our job is
To listen and learn
The candidates’ plans
Which we must discern.
Don’t let the media
(Social or news)
Tell you what to think
It is you who must choose.
Our freedom as citizens.
Gives us that right.
Don’t take either for granted.
They can disappear overnight.
And, whether you live
in a red state or blue
Your vote counts
As much as you do.
Your vote Is an act
of democracy.
One of millions
Throughout our history.
The more votes recorded,
No matter for whom,
The stronger we are
If we give each other room
To listen and speak
To hear one another,
Turn down the noise
So we can discover
We have things in common.
A good place to start
To move our country forward
For those close to our hearts.
Just as 55 delegates
Did long ago:
They wrote the Constitution
That we might know.
What it means to be free
To grow and evolve,
Change when we should
Make things better for all.
America is a privilege.
We can learn from the past
To preserve and protect it.
We want it to last.
Vote! VOTE!!
