Philosophical Creed…
* I believe that inherent within a successful learning organization is an intentional culture of learning, which begins with the core values of relationship-building and trust between and among all stakeholders: students, teachers, staff, administrators, parents, and other interested members of the outside community.
* I believe that every member of the learning community should be valued and have a voice.
* I believe in a holistic approach that recognizes that students are individuals and that respects their unique talents, interests, and learning styles.
* I believe in the importance of both social and academic learning – engendered through trust and supported by a team.
* I believe in hands-on, personalized learning that is project-based, community-service oriented, that fosters and encourages student interests, and that, at the high school level, allows students to follow their passions through entrepreneurial endeavors and/or internships.
* I believe that students should sometimes problem-solve in partnerships and develop an appreciation for the perspectives and talents of others.
* I believe that our role as educators and parents is to let students explore, be curious, use both technology and social awareness to expand their knowledge of other students and other countries, and to help them achieve balance and grow naturally into global citizens.
* I believe that honest and respectful collaboration among teachers and parents and community members is imperative to success for our students.
* I believe that an effective learning community is built on a foundation of core values, yet evolves and grows in flexible response to the needs of students so that it and they are relevant in a dynamic world.
* I believe that fiscal responsibility should improve rather than impede educational opportunities.
* I believe that all children are special with many forms of intelligence , and that it is up to us to help them help them to cope with academic and social challenges, and to appreciate and cultivate their strengths so that they may achieve to their highest personal potential with a strong sense of well-being.
* I believe that learning should be joyful with room for the imagination to soar.
I also believe that with commitment, dedication, collaboration, objectivity, and the passionate drive of all concerned, everything is possible – some things in the near term, some on a longer continuum – but all with the common purpose to safeguard our children, to inspire and empower them to realize their ambitions and to help others on the paths to their own futures.
